John Guenst

Dr. John Guenst of Nashville, Tennessee, specializes in internal medicine and maintains an accomplished history as a healthcare practitioner and as an aviation expert. Dr. John Guenst currently works on-staff for the St. Thomas Medical Group, where he provides comprehensive patient care and performs Federal Aviation Administration physical examinations.

Before joining the St. Thomas Medical Group on a full-time basis, Dr. Guenst trained and served in the US Air Force, while completing his medical training, from 1988 to 1995. During his military career, he received a distinguished graduate award for his performance in pilot training at the former Williams Air Force Base in Arizona, and operated as a pilot for the Tennessee Air National Guard. While practicing medicine at St Thomas Medical Group, Dr. Guenst worked as an aircraft commander until 2002 and as an admission liaison officer for the US Air Force Academy until his retirement from the military in 2008.

After receiving his Doctor of Medicine from Vanderbilt School of Medicine and after pilot training, Dr. John Guenst performed his post-doctoral training in internal medicine at University of Tennessee program at Baptist Hospital in Nashville Tennessee. He currently holds medical licensure in Tennessee, as well as membership in such professional societies as the AMA, Tennessee Medical Association, Nashville Academy of Medicine and the American College of Physicians.
