I undertook a BA in Fine Art before gaining my MFA (with Distinction) at Kingston School of Art, Kingston University - specialising in painting as the main part of my practice. It was a life changing experience; I've always known Art was the world for me however it helped me to become absolutely sure about the particular Art path I want to follow and has had a positive influence over my life.

My first public exhibition was Art in Mind: Contemporary Painting at the Brick Lane Gallery in 2013. Some of my paintings have also been shown in the Contemporary Art Research Centre (Kingston University), the Stanley Picker Gallery, One America Square, Dray Walk Gallery, Dreamspace Gallery, Pitzhanger Manor Gallery, POSK Gallery, W3 Gallery and other local exhibitions (as part of my involvement with the Ealing Art Group). My interests include the Ancient World, History, Charles Dickens, listening to Music (of all sorts), making Music (singing and playing the Flute), logic games (including Sudoku) and black and white photography.

My work comes from my own unique perspective and inspired by my understanding of the world around me. I believe that Art is a timeless language; that it can convey our responses and ideas in a way that words cannot, crosses all boundaries and gives us unique insights into the world as others experience it. Towards the end of my time on the MFA Fine Art course I became drawn to the beauty of trees prior to researching my ancestry in depth. I find tying my heritage to my paintings enables me to communicate across time and culture through my work.

Outside my practice I enjoy all aspects of film (both watching and taking part). I have been doing some work as a Film Extra in a variety of shoots from feature films (e.g. 'Night at the Museum 3') to television (e.g. 'Holby City' and 'Vanity Fair') and commercials (e.g. 'Giffgaff: Hey you. Let's fly' and 'Doddle Black Friday'). I received a credit as Tall Customer in ‘The Outfit’.

My experience on set has left me astonished at how something blank like a green screen can be transformed into another dimension - just like an artist opening a door into a new world from a blank canvas. My great grandfather was Herbert Mason MC - the film director, producer, hero of Guillemont and an instinctive artist who painted in the trenches!

I live and work in London.
