I am founder and CEO of NewCo Festivals, Chair of sovrn, and previously founder and CEO of Federated Media Publishing, one of the largest media companies on the Internet.

I write and speak about media, marketing, technology, culture. I'm at work on another book, though it's taking longer than I'd like. I ran the Web 2 Summit conference, and many other events along the way. I've done a few things before all that, including Wired, The Search, and The Industry Standard.

I mountain bike a lot, practice yoga enough to be teased, drink a fair amount of wine, and hang with my family in Marin.
