John Guest, Jr.

Welcome to my photography page, I'm John Guest, a native New Yorker who now calls the Midwest home. I am often asked how I ended up here, my response is always "Like a Good Neighbor State Farm is there". My journey to the Midwest began as a Sr. Project Planning Professional, selling my contracted services to State Farm. After my contract was completed, I decided to stay in Bloomington, Illinois where I currently reside.

As a photographer, I have a passion for capturing the beauty of the Midwest, from the vast landscapes to the bustling cityscapes of Chicago. I am a frequent visitor to the Windy City, where I love to capture the energy and diversity of this amazing city. I also attend Shutterfest in St. Louis, Missouri, an annual event that brings together photographers from all over the country for photography, education and fellowship. It is here that I get to practice my photography techniques on a wide variety of beautiful models of all ages and hues.

I am also a disabled Veteran Owned Business and I am proud to have served in the U.S Army. I believe that my experiences in the military have helped shape me into the person and photographer I am today. I strive to bring a sense of discipline, focus, and attention to detail to my photography.

I specialize in landscape and cityscape photography, but I also enjoy capturing the beauty of people, whether it's a portrait, headshot or candid. I am always looking for new ways to push my limits and grow as a photographer.
