John McNiff Philadelphia

Accomplished investment management professional John McNiff currently serves as Partner and co-founder of Mera Capital Management, L.P. Based in the greater Philadelphia area, Mera Capital invests in small growth companies, private equity, and promising venture capital opportunities. John P. Beyond the aforementioned work, John McNiff serves as Chairman at Discovery Capital Management, LLC, in New York City. In recent years, Mr. McNiff has achieved board seats with a number of prominent insurance companies and investment firms, including Steel Partners Holdings L.P. (NYSE); Chartwell Investment Partners; Cooke & Bieler, a Philadelphia investment firm; Alliance Healthcare; Lincoln Mortgage Co.; and Colonial Penn Insurance Company. He is also the founder and board member of Radnor Holdings Corp., a diversified chemical company.

John P. McNiff graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1983 and completed his Juris Doctor at the New York University School of Law in 1986. During his postgraduate studies, he sat on the board of the Journal of International Law and Politics. After graduating, he served with the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York City before pursuing his career interests in business.

Calling the Philadelphia area home, Mr. McNiff and his wife regularly donate to a range of charitable organizations. His wife is the founder of Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia, which sends more than 5,000 underprivileged children to private schools. Mr. McNiff sits on the Board of Trustees at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and has been recognized as a Sterling Fellow at Yale University.
