John Slifko's working background has included best efforts as a staffer for the Los Angeles City Council engaging environmental issues. From there John went to work as a staff member for the United States Congress in technology policy. John's educational background is in spatial studies at San Francisco State University and the University of California, Los Angeles.

John Slifko has a strong interest in communication, democratic and gender studies. His scholarly publications are in French and English. John is currently on the Board of Directors of Paris-based The Sustainable Development Management Initiative, the Hannah Mather Crocker Society, Inc. at Notre Dame University, Advisory Group at C3, and is Co-Director of the Roosevelt Center for the Study of Civll Soiety and Freemasonry. John Slifko is also Co-Founder of project AWE.

John Slifko's strongest interests are in maturing democratic civil society around the world, climate change and environmental sustainability and global efforts to improve the education of young girls, But John's passion runs deep for simply sitting in nature, the lure of the breeze, night stars, sun and trees, and for contemplation of the self.
