John Shufeldt

Dr. Shufeldt founded the largest pure-play urgent care network in the country in 1993 and was the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board until 2010.

Over his 17-year history, Dr. Shufeldt has identified, tested and implemented best practices in urgent care where he remains an industry leader. He has opened more than 50 urgent care centers over the course of his career and has a complete understanding of the intricacies of urgent care operation and management.

Dr. Shufeldt received his BA from Drake University in 1982 and his MD from the University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School in 1986. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Christ Hospital and Medical Center in 1989, where he spent his final year as Chief Resident. Dr. Shufeldt received his MBA in 1995 and his Juris Doctorate in 2005, both from Arizona State University. He is admitted to the Bar in Arizona, the Federal District Court and Supreme Court of the United States. His certifications include Fellow, American Board of Emergency Medicine and Fellow, College of Legal Medicine and American College of Emergency Physicians.
