Dr. Jonathan Brisman

For many years, Dr. Jonathan Brisman has actively contributed to the development of neurology. He has published more than 30 articles in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet Neurology. These articles focus on topics such as cerebral aneurysms, endovascular therapy for acute strokes, and vascular and skull base conditions. Dr. Jonathan Brisman also contributes to Neurosurgery, the American Journal of Neuroradiology, and the International Journal of Radiation Biology by reviewing submitted material.

Since 2007, Dr. Jonathan Brisman has worked in the operating room as a Neurosurgeon with Neurological Surgery, P.C. The first such professional trained in both endovascular and microneurosurgical techniques on Long Island, New York, and one of only 80 in the nation, Dr. Brisman served as Director of Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Services at the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute at JFK Medical Center in Edison before accepting his current position. In 2009, he also assumed the role of Director of Endovascular Neurosurgery at Huntington Hospital in Huntington, New York.

A successful and dedicated student, Dr. Jonathan Brisman majored in the history of science and graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University. He then completed his medical degree at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Jonathan Brisman then fulfilled a general surgery internship before beginning his neurological training as a resident at Massachusetts General Hospital. He further honed his skills by completing a fellowship in interventional neuroradiology at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City and one in microvascular neurosurgery at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. In his spare time, Dr. Jonathan Brisman enjoys playing golf and fly-fishing.
