Jonathan Brewer

Howdy! I'm a native of Lawrence, Kansas who lives in Wellington, New Zealand.

My time is focussed on the Internet of Things, and my current project is WaterGenie.

I help connect the developing world as a network engineer and trainer on contract to the University of Oregon's Network Startup Resource Centre.

I also consult as an engineer, an architect, and a strategist in the areas of network architecture and rural & remote broadband. I'm an approved radio certifier for New Zealand.

Last year an InternetNZ funded paper I authored on TV Whitespace Technology was given at APRICOT in Singapore, PITA in Apia, Samoa and AUSNOG in Sydney, Australia. In early 2011 I exited Araneo, a wireless broadband carrier I founded in 2004.

In the past I've worked for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, MA and Groton, CT on Information Architecture & Discovery Informatics teams. I was also a volunteer with the US Peace Corps (Poland 15).
