Howdy! I'm a native of Lawrence, Kansas who lives in Wellington, New Zealand.

I consult to industry and government as an engineer, an architect, and a strategist in the areas of network architecture, radio design, and rural & remote broadband.

I speak to private and public audiences, most recently at APRICOT 2013 in Singapore where I presented a paper on TV Whitespace Technology for Rural Telecommunications that was funded by InternetNZ.

In early 2011 I exited Araneo, a wireless broadband carrier I founded in 2004.

In the past I've worked for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, MA and Groton, CT on Information Architecture & Discovery Informatics teams. I was also a volunteer with the US Peace Corps (Poland 15).

Longer ago I spent a summer at Interlochen. I have a BSc from the University of Kansas.

When I'm not working I spend a lot of time blogging, consulting, cooking, and brewing beer.
