Joni is an award winning reporter, writer, researcher, copy editor, and news editor with a great eye for detail and accuracy. She is also an accomplished photojournalist. References to Joni's work have appeared online and in print newspapers, journals, books, documentaries, blogs, and magazines across the globe; and some of her articles have been translated into other languages. Her particular area of expertise has been covering legal and political issues, denominational and religious interests, education, and ethnic and minority subjects. Joni has a special interest in writing and photographing subjects for profiles and features -- most recently she completed several full length features on illegal immigrant children in Texas, Syrian refugees, WWII POW's, and ethnics. Joni has traveled extensively throughout the United States and internationally, to Iraq (2011), Jordan (2013/2011/2003), Israel (2010), Italy (2013), Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Mexico, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. She is a mentor to college students, interns, and former high school students. She provided news coverage for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, three Super Bowls, and a Pro Bowl in Florida.
