White-knuckled fists clenched in frustration, jaw tight, shoulders hunched up around my ears, I drowned myself in Twizzlers and jelly beans. My energy and spirit sank along with the rest of me. I was stressed, unhappy, and unhealthy.

That was 15 years ago. Since then, I’ve transformed myself through yoga, meditation and healthy living. With each yoga class, I melted, softened, released tension. Plus, I got stronger, both physically and mentally. With meditation, I found connection and a taste of inner peace. My eating habits turned toward natural foods. I learned to fuel my body and soul from the inside out. Little by little, I swam out of the darkness and into the bright sunshine.
