My name is Jonny Gios ( orignally from Stockport) , I live in Kendal, Cumbria. I am married to Pamela (Tot) and we have a son aged 7 and a daughter aged 3. We've been in Kendal 4 years now having moved from Carlisle in 2011.

I work for Sandylands Methodist Church as the Community Worker and pioneering many different programmes as we seek to work alongside our local community. We have recently been mentioned in Parliament by Tim Farron MP who have a EDM (2012) about our recent mission work on the Sandylands estate under the banner of Hope. We were recently nominated by Joseph Rank Foundation for the Best Church for Social Action. This award was held at Lambeth Palace and has brought a number of opportunities along with being nominated.

I am also the youth officer for Cumbria Methodist District which involves supporting local minister and youth workers in Cumbria.

I've worked in Carlisle for 10 years for the Living Well Trust on the Raffles estate as a youth pastor, associate minister and then pastor from 2009. I was ordained into the church of the Nazarene in 2010. I've previously worked in the newspaper industry; for the CN Group and Guardian Media Group PLC. I have also worked for many other churches in a youth work capacity.

I love Manchester City FC with a passion- love watching them in the ups and downs of the league and the cup. I have a passion for Graphic Design - having previously worked as a Graphic Designer and studied it at college. My theological interests include; God of the poor and marginalised - community action/ pioneering and my favourite subject 'Fresh Expressions'. How do we do church differently and better to engage and reach more people with the good news about Jesus.
