Jon Roberts

An executive leader with more than three decades of professional experience, Jon Roberts has established himself as a highly skilled public manager and civil engineer. Roberts presently works for Steamboat Springs, Colorado, as the municipality's City Manager. In this capacity, he successfully directs capital improvement projects, oversees the city's relationships with local businesses and tourist sites, and has acquired more than $12 million in grants. Prior to accepting his current position in 2009, Roberts devoted nearly 20 years of work to the City of Victorville, California. Initially hired by the municipality as city engineer in 1992, he subsequently served for a decade as the city manager.

Committed to professional development, Jon Roberts is an active member of the International City Managers Association. Licensed as a professional land surveyor and as a professional civil engineer, Roberts also belongs to the Rotary Club of Steamboat Springs.

At the onset of his professional career, Roberts worked for Peter Kiewit Sons, a major construction business based in Arcadia, California. In his position as a project superintendent for this company, he maintained responsibility for the development and execution of major government, public works, and private-sector projects. In 1987, he transitioned to his inaugural role in the public sector, and dedicated five years of service as a field engineer for the City of San Bernardino.

As an undergraduate student, Jon Roberts attended California State Polytechnic University, where he studied civil engineering and completed a bachelor of science degree in 1982. He subsequently engaged in advanced business coursework at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. An outdoors enthusiast, Roberts dedicates his leisure time to activities including skiing, scuba diving, and flying airplanes.
