Jordan Jones is a writer, publisher, and genealogist.

He earned BA in Honors in English with a minor in Philosophy (magna cum laude) from California State University, Northridge (1987). He studied at L'Université Catholique de l'Ouest in Angers, France and received the Diplôme de langue de l'Alliance Française (niveau moyen) in 1989. He earned his MA in English from UC Davis (1991), with Sandra McPherson (chair), Alan Williamson, and Gary Snyder serving on his thesis committee.

His poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and works in translation have been published in numerous magazines and anthologies, including "What Book?!: Buddha Poems from Beat to Hiphop" (Parallax, 1998; winner, American Book Award).

He is the author of two books: "Sand & Coal: Poems" (Futharc, 1993) and "The Wheel: Poems" (Leaping Dog, 2005). Jordan has been a genealogist since 1973; has designed, edited, and published books and magazines since 1987; and has designed and published web sites since 1995.

Jordan has read his work and lectured on technology and genealogy at various, local, national, and international events since 1991.

He was profiled in the June 2010 "APG Quarterly" magazine. He is the Past President of the National Genealogical Society and served on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Genealogical Society. He was the webmaster for the North Carolina Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the North Carolina Genealogical Society, and the Virginia Genealogical Society. He was the technology columnist for the NGS Magazine for a decade.

Currently, he's president of the New Mexico Book Association and serves on the board of directors for the New Mexico Genealogical Society and serves as their technology and conference chair. He's also the webmaster for the Historical Society of New Mexico.
