Joseph Nutz

Dr. Joe Nutz began his higher education at Ashland Community & Technical College in Kentucky, where he graduated with an Associate of Science in Zoology and was recognized as the Most Outstanding Male Student at the school. To further pursue zoological studies, he attended the University of Kentucky and earned a Bachelor of Science in the discipline. In 1986, Dr. Joe Nutz moved to Philadelphia in order to study pharmacology and toxicology at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science (now the University of the Sciences) in Pennsylvania. Dr. Joe Nutz stayed in Philadelphia to acquire his Doctor of Medicine from Thomas Jefferson University’s Jefferson Medical College in 1992. While in Pennsylvania, Dr. Joe Nutz headed the Family Practice Residency Program at Hamot Medical Center. In 1995, Dr. Joe Nutz returned to the South with his family, settling in Morehead City, North Carolina, and he established the Sea Breeze Family Practice in 1998. As the current President and owner of the facility, Dr. Joe Nutz holds managerial responsibility for both the medical and business aspects of the enterprise. Since coming to North Carolina, Dr. Joe Nutz has utilized his medical expertise to contribute at various medical centers in the area. Previously, he served at Carteret General Hospital as the Chief of the Medical Department and is currently the Chief of Quality and Safety as well as the Chairman of the Medical Review Committee at the facility. In addition, Dr. Joe Nutz advises the Carteret County Public School System on medical issues and acts as the Physician Advisor to a home health agency. During his free time, Dr. Joe Nutz enjoys fishing, kayaking, and playing with his children. Dr. Joe Nutz volunteers with local organizations in the area to promote youth sports. A past member of the Rotary Club of Morehead City Noon, Dr. Joe Nutz currently sits on the Board of Directors at RBC Bank, formerly Centura Banks.
