Joseph Treff

For the past 11 years, Joseph Treff has been a partner at Treff and Lowy PLLC. This Brooklyn law firm handles individual and corporate real estate, banking, and private equity transactions through its real estate and banking group. It also represents clients in insurance, real estate, and commercial litigation. Treff and Lowy has a commercial litigation group to handle cases such as civil fraud or breach of employee loyalty and an insurance litigation group to represent clients going to court for proceedings involving several types of insurance.

The majority of clients that Joseph Treff represents are real estate investors seeking his counsel regarding financing, business development, or partnership formation. Although Treff and Lowy works regularly with individual investors, Mr. Treff has represented many corporate investors as well. He has experience in both commercial and retail real estate law, including its application to the sometimes complex financial arrangements of some real estate transactions. For example, he has consulted clients regarding short-term financing and loans, conduit financing, syndication, construction loans, mezzanine loans, and other types of loans. Joseph Treff also works regularly in contracts and such specific matters as contract assignment transfers and title report examination. A major consideration in representing clients is to protect their rights and minimize disputes.

Joseph Treff holds a Juris Doctor, which he received from Brooklyn Law School in 1999. As a licensed attorney, he holds membership with the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. Outside of his career at Treff and Lowy, Joseph Treff has contributed to Jewish organizations such as Oorah, an organization that promotes and encourages Jewish families to discover their heritage, and Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael, an orthodox Jewish school.
