Joshua Carroll is a Software Engineer and Information Security specialist. He is especially interested in assistive technologies, cryptology and cipher algorithms, speech recognition, speech synthesis (artificial-voice phoneme development) and packet radio.

In his [former] Army career, he was a meteorologist, print journalist, and broadcast journalist (seen on the Pentagon Channel). Though now he only reports on the local school's sports, he is still a weather geek.

When he's not behind a keyboard, he enjoys spending time with his family, leading his step-son's Cub Scout Den, Geocaching, hamming it up with Amateur Radio, playing guitar, or working on his mountain dulcimer.
