A graduate of Harvard University and member of Mensa International Limited, J. Randall Waterfield honed his leadership and financial services skills in positions at Prudential Securities in New York and at Fidelity Investments in Boston. At Goldman Sachs, he held responsibility for the institutional small cap growth portfolios. Since 1999, he has acted as Chairman of the privately held Waterfield Group, the roots of which date back to the 1920s, when Mr. Waterfield’s grandfather started Waterfield Insurance Agency and Waterfield Mortgage Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana. At present, the Waterfield Group provides services in real estate, technology, energy, merchant banking, and asset management through several firms bearing the Waterfield name. The firm's registered investment advisor, Waterfield Asset Management, manages more than $2 billion in assets. In June 2011, J. Randall Waterfield consummated a transaction with storied investment bank, Cappello Capital Corp, (www.cappellocorp.com) forming Cappello Waterfield & Co., a company with over $100 Billion in advisory and capital transaction experience. A prominent guest on radio and television news shows and frequently quoted in major publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, and American Banker, J. Randall Waterfield holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst. As an owner and board member of Cappello Waterfield, he oversees the company’s corporate advisory services to public and private concerns. Cappello Waterfield counsels in such areas as buy- and sell-side mergers and acquisitions, private debt and equity placements, financial restructuring, and strategic planning. J. Randall Waterfield and his management team also provide capital introductions for select private equity and hedge funds. Business entities of the Waterfield Group overseen by J. Randall Waterfield and his brother, Richard R. Waterfield, include The Waterfield Funds; Waterfield Asset Management, LLC; and Waterfield Enterprises. J. Randall Waterfield also holds responsibility with other family members for the firm’s charitable efforts, such as the Waterfield Foundation which has facilitated suhc projects as the Waterfield Endowment Scholarships, and the Waterfield Campus Housing Program at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.
