Judah Gross was born in Philadelphia. After graduating from high school he took a year off before enrolling at the University of Maryland and traveled to Israel. He began studying journalism at UMD in fall 2008, even editing the campus Jewish magazine, The Mitzpeh. He has worked at a few publications: The Washington Post, Heeb Magazine, The Prince George's Sentinel and New Voices. Judah wrote, took photographs and shot video for the News21 national project on food safety, looking at how pathogens are controlled on poultry farms. This chicken was on one of those farms.
In 2011, Judah moved to Israel and is now an army photographer in the IDF Spokesperson Unit.
