Julia Lee Dean holds a BA (Hons) in English & Italian Literature from the University of Warwick and a Masters degree in the History of Medicine & Science from Birkbeck College, University of London. She was also a member of the Young Writers' Programme at the Royal Court Theatre before training as an actress at Rose Bruford College. Her plays, sketches and monologues have been performed at festivals in London, Cambridge and Belfast as well as at venues in Canada and the US. In 2010 she spent 6 months as a stand-up comic performing in London and Edinburgh and published her first novel, "And I Shall Be Healed" in 2013. She now lives in Bonn, Germany where she works as a freelance Editor and English teacher. She is currently working on her second novel, the C17th-set "The Lost Son of Ambrose Garfield".
