Julian Whitewright

I am a maritime archaeologist at the University of Southampton and the Maritime Archaeology Trust. My work investigates the sailing and seafaring of the ancient Mediterranean and Indian Ocean, as well as 18th and 19th century British shipping and shipbuilding. As much as possible, I aim to inform this research through practical experience on the water. I also have a professional interest in the management and dissemination of our underwater cultural heritage.
