Julie Irving

I believe that it is important to be passionate about what you do, and have made seeking the right career path a high priority in my life over the past 10 years. The first half of my career was spent at Clear Channel building advertising campaigns and selling them to clients; business owners, agencies, marketing folks. I was hand-picked to be the first Digital Account Manager in DC and Baltimore. I learned so much during this time, but I decided I’d rather really focus on marketing instead of sales. In 2010 I moved up to my favorite city, NYC, and continued my higher education at NYU Stern for my MBA to help make the career transition. During B-School I started truly building my marketing experience by working for startups and consultancies on everything from social media management and digital PR to analytics. After briefly working with an Amazon subsidiary I began my current role at Macy’s primarily working on digital marketing. I love what I do because I get to touch so many elements of marketing including email, on-site, strategy, SEM, SEO, affiliates. Every time you get an email from Macy’s, that’s me or someone on my team (so hopefully you buy something!) It has been a great experience, and I have been directly involved in doubling (or more) sales and traffic YoY for some of the areas of business that I have been managing.

The sales and client management experience from earlier in my career have been invaluable, and help me on a daily basis in my current career. I love to combine instinct and logic with numbers to discover why people do what they do and how I can make campaigns more relevant and effective. I have aspirations to continue to grow in my career and build on my leadership capabilities and have no limits on how far I will go. I am very internally motivated and genuinely care about doing good work, and helping others do work.

Life is not all work and no play, and I like to have a balance! I’m a member of Gotham Rock Choir, and I’m also in side projects associated with the group which keep me singing all the time! Ask me about how I sang twice at Radio City Music Hall! I also love working out and going to fitness classes all around the city. I live with my boyfriend and our 2 cats in Midtown. I’m originally from Maryland and went down to Elon in NC for college, so needless to say, I’m an East Coast girl.
