I am an assistant professor of political science at Northeastern University, where I teach international political economy, comparative politics, and European politics. I studied at UC Berkeley (PhD 2005), Georgetown University (MSFS 1990) and Brown University (BA 1988), and have lived and worked in France, the Czech Republic (1990-1994), Washington, DC, and Berkeley, CA and Burkina Faso, West Africa. I speak French, Czech, and some Swedish, Slovak, German, and Spanish. I am interested in questions of globalization, how politics affect economic reforms, and how economic policies affect politics and people's lives. My latest book analyzes Global Markets and Government Regulation in Telecommunications.

I also sing in a choir at Christ Church Cambridge and love exploring the outdoors with my two kids.
