U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Reserve veteran, former Tulsa Police Department Officer, and retired Chief Fire Officer (served as Chief of Research and Development, Chief of Training and Chief of Emergency Medical Services for the Tulsa Fire Department). Retired Professor, Tulsa Community College, Fire & Emergency Medical Services Program. Education includes an A.A.S. in Fire Science, a B.A. in Psychology, an M.S. in Executive Fire Service Leadership, and completion of the National Fire Academy's Executive Fire Officer Program. Have published articles in national fire service publications on worker's compensation, fire service communications, critical incident stress, and fire service leadership. Over 40 years of fire safety-related experience. Extensive experience in the areas of fire incident command, fire station location, fire service policies and procedures, critical incident stress management, fire service training, fire officer development, fire service impact fee development, fire service research and program development, and arson investigation, as well as other fire service-related areas.

Certified Law Enforcement Officer, Hazardous Materials Technician, Aircraft Rescue Firefighter, Code Enforcement Officer, Fire Service Instructor, Emergency Medical Services Instructor, and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Counselor and Team Leader.
