Kaitlin Godbey

Social Media Manager in Sparks, Nevada

Kaitlin joined the BLM Nevada communications team in 2010 with the task of bringing BLM Nevada into the world of social media. She created Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube accounts, but didn't stop there. After researching the diverse recreation opportunities available on public lands (Nevada is about 67 percent BLM land), she created a social media campaign called "P.L.A.Y." or, Public Lands Around You. Each day for an entire year she highlighted a different recreation opportunity of Nevada's public lands ranging from rock climbing in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area to exploring old ghost towns in every corner of the state.

Kaitlin is very involved in the Reno community. She is President of Ad 2 Reno, a non-profit organization made up of advertising/marketing professionals ages 32 and younger. She is an official organizer of Reno Social Media Day and volunteers for the Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada. She also sings in the Reno Philharmonic Chorus and can usually be spotted succumbing to paparazzi tendencies whenever she can get her hands on a camera.
