Kaitlin Smith

Multimedia Storyteller & Freelance Copywriter in Boston, Massachusetts

Strategic storyteller and digital native with deep listening skills shaped by multi-functional background in higher education; key domains include social science research, counseling, and diversity training.

Fueled by a desire to redirect my skills to the tech space, I now build capacity for pre-collegiate programming at national nonprofit Year Up by devising scalable digital systems and content strategy. In my next role, I aim to merge strategic communications, qualitative research, and digital strategy within a small SaaS company.

Outside of my full-time role, I serve as a biographical copywriter, editor, and marketing consultant for creative professionals on a freelance basis (see UpWork profile).

An incurably independent thinker, I freely elected to leave my PhD program at the University of Chicago to immerse myself in the unconstrained creativity and conviction of the entrepreneurial world in 2015. Prior to this, I completed a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology at Swarthmore College and a M.S.W. in psychodynamic psychotherapy at Smith College.
