Kaitlyn Dinneh Wozniak

Kaitlyn Dinneh Wozniak is the reigning Miss District of Columbia US International (Top 10 at Miss US International) and a student at American University studying Psychology and Public Communication with a passion for raising awareness about eating disorders and body image issues in young women.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Kaitlyn came to the District of Columbia in 2009 and began her undergraduate career at American University. Currently she is a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority where she currently serves as Vice President of Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation and has served as Vice President of Philanthropy and Personal Development Chair. She was also Maryland Miss 2011 and made Top 10 at National Miss 2011.

"At the age of 14 I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa and struggled with my illness for over four years. In my sophomore year of college I was able to say I am fully recovered, but I still struggled with body image issues until about a year ago. I found peace in my own skin through surrounding myself with positivity, opportunities to learn, cycling and giving back to my community. My role as a titleholder and role model absolutely paved the way for my confidence and ability to share this message."

Kaitlyn works closely with the AU Wellness Center where she serves as a certified Body Image Peer Educator and assisted in planning two consecutive Body Image Awareness Weeks. She also organized a National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) affiliated Eating Disorder Awareness Walk that raised over $30,000 for the organization. Kaitlyn is an avid supporter of the Eating Disorder Coalition, an organization with which she works to lobby on Capitol Hill for eating disorder healthcare issues. She was also named one of the "Top 20 'It Women' In Women's Empowerment" in 2011.

She's currently a student, titleholder, cyclist (ZenGo Fitness in Bethesda, MD) and mentor and is preparing for future endeavors, some of which include applying to graduate school to obtain a Psy-D in Clinical Psychology.

Kaitlyn just launched her own wellness website, www.beautytothecore.com. Beauty to the Core serves to promote complete wellness through promoting fitness, nutrition, self esteem, positive body image and beauty tips."
