Kevin Amboe

Kevin Amboe has been a teacher in Surrey, British Columbia for 17 years. During those years, he has taught in Secondary, Elementary and as a District Consultant supporting 126 sites. He has a worked towards building understanding and capacity of Information and Media Literacy. He has coordinated and participated in several research projects within our district.

While Kevin is older than what Marc Prensky considers a "Digital Native," he is fluent in "Digital." He has taught both Elementary and Secondary.

The last four years, he has been focused on developing the concept of Information and Media Literacy, which aligns directly with the NETS-S.

In addition, Kevin has worked with our local Simon Fraser University for over 10 years on a self-directed / mentored Professional Development in-service program for teachers.

He has presented numerous times at several local, regional, provincial and International conferences including CUE-BC, NECC 2009, ISTE 2010, 2011 and 2012. He is a Google Certified Teachers and one of Canada's Apple Distinguished Educators.
