Kara Leung

Kara Leung is a part time photographer, full time gamer and eSports enthusiast. She graduated in 2008 from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in Global Studies. Kara discovered her love for photography after assisting various photographers from Brooks Institute of Photography. She was named a finalist in Photographer's Forum's 29th Annual College Photography Contest and published in the Best of College Photography 2009. Her photos have been featured on popular gaming websites such as Shoryuken, EVO Championship Series, Kotaku and Joystiq. Additionally, her photos have been used in Japanese publications including Arcadia Magazine and Daigo Umehara's "勝ち続ける意志力" (The Will to Keep Winning)"

A lifelong gamer, Kara grew up cutting her teeth playing Duck Hunt and Super Mario Brothers on the Nintendo Entertainment System before graduating to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, finally settling on PC gaming. It was in high school she discovered the game of Counter-Strike which captured her passion of eSports and video games as a form of competition. Having finally met her self-imposed goal of representing the USA at the Electronic Sports World Cup 2008, she decided to move on from Counter-Strike into the fighting game community and has since then been working with promoting the community through the creation of media and photography.
