Kara Scharwath is Communications Manager at NationBuilder where she helps tell the stories of NationBuilder customers and shares them with the world. She's passionate about using the power of business to drive positive social change.

Kara recently received her MBA in Sustainable Management and Social Entrepreneurship from Presidio Graduate School in San Francisco and is a regular contributor to the sustainable business publications TriplePundit and Sustainable Industries.

Prior to coming to NationBuilder, Kara helped manage global carbon, waste and water programs for The Walt Disney Company's Corporate Citizenship Division. She's helped launch several successful start-ups and co-founded BeSui Consulting, a boutique firm specializing in consumer research and marketing communications strategy. She has a BS in Environmental Policy, Institutions and Behaviors from Rutgers University where she was recognized as a George H. Cook Honors Scholar.
