Karl Baldauf

Karl Baldauf holds over a decade of experience working in advocacy and communications in the public and private sectors, as well as in politics and with stakeholder organizations. He has worked for two provincial cabinet ministers, Ontario’s leader of the opposition, Canada’s largest PR firm, NATIONAL Public Relations, and is presently the Vice President of Policy & Government Relations at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce where he drives advocacy efforts for the province’s business community. Throughout his career, he has worked with the province’s leading officials in politics and at the senior most executive levels to craft policy in a range of sectors to support Ontario’s business community.

As a public relations consultant, Karl applied his skills in several sectors including energy, financial communications, and transportation. He worked for government ministries and agencies to support stakeholder and community relations activities. These assignments included project management for stakeholder perception audits, engagement with political and bureaucratic officials at all levels, community consultation/open houses, and contributing to digital engagement strategies.

Karl is the recipient of national and international scholarships and holds an M.A. (Distinction) in Political Communications from the University of London, Goldsmith’s College, the UK’s leading Communications department and holds a B.A. (Hons) from the University of Toronto. His dissertation focused on the political marketing strategies of Stephen Harper’s Conservative Party. He has also studied and worked in Amsterdam and Seoul.
