I am the author of the book "Foster Cat Foster Kid God Says You Don't Have To Eat Dirt Anymore!" I am a current and former foster care youth advocate, abuse survivor advocate, and an animal advocate. I am also a former foster care alumni . Writing this book about a cat my husband and I rescued, who ended up saving my life both literally and figuratively, brought me full circle. to realizing a new life purpose. i write about how my experiences in foster care and group homes, as well as in an abusive home environment, mirror the struggles of the cat we fostered and adopted. He was discovered by my husband in 2009 living in an abandoned lumber yard, and had been hit by two cars in one day two years prior. People of faith are also an audience for my book, as I speak of how I was able to heal from my abuse. This has been both a cathartic and exciting project, which has brought me into the advocacies I do today.
