Kate (Hardman) Griffin is an award-winning, accredited business communications professional. She has 17 years experience developing and implementing communications strategies that enable companies to inform, engage and motivate global audiences and targeted groups.

In her current role as Senior Manager of Employee Communications at Qualcomm, Kate is the communications lead for Qualcomm’s corporate functions and emerging businesses. She also has oversight for Qualcomm’s news intranet, and strategic and leadership communication initiatives.

Prior to joining Qualcomm, Kate worked at Sony Electronics, where she planned, developed and coordinated communications to more than 18,000 employees in the U.S. and Mexico. She also worked at Trident Communications, a global internal communications agency, where her clients included Accenture, Pfizer, Clifford Chance, Shell, BP, the UK's Metropolitan Police and British National Rail.

Kate is a trusted communications partner to leaders at all levels of an organization, has a strong business acumen, and excellent writing and editing skills. She has a proven background in leading teams and initiatives, managing multiple projects and working to deadline. She also brings strong international experience having worked on two continents, and with clients whose operations span the globe. Kate also volunteers as the President of International Association of Business Communicator's (IABC) San Diego chapter.

Over the course of her career, Kate has managed a diverse range of strategic, change management, creative and editorial initiatives. Her work has been recognized with two IABC Gold Quill and two IABC Silver Quill awards. In 2010 she became an Accredited Business Communicator and in 2013, was named to San Diego Metro’s 40 under 40. Kate holds a BA in English & History from the University of York, UK.
