Kate Walker Ph.D., LPC, LMFT is an enthusiastic educator, counselor, and entrepreneur and the founder of All About the Family LLC. She has been educating counselors and counseling people since 2004. Dr. Kate's businesses consist of achievebalance.org Clinical Counseling Practice in The Woodlands, Texas; Kate Walker Training, providing online and face to face continuing education; and the Texas non-profit Ann's Place dedicated to providing intern training and on-site counseling at under-served sites throughout Texas. Most recently she is serving as the president of the Texas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision and providing supervision to counseling students at the University of Houston Victoria - Sugar Land.
An avid researcher, Dr. Kate has been a speaker and presenter at the Texas Counseling Association Annual Conference, the Texas Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Annual Conference, and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision National Conference. She earned her master’s degree and Ph.D. from Sam Houston State University and her bachelor of music degree from The University of Texas at Austin. She continues to freelance as a professional bass player for singer/songwriters in the Houston area.
Dr. Kate's favorite job is being mom to three great kids and wife to her incredible husband David. God has brought them through military deployments, breast cancer, and adolescent addiction and recovery, so she works hard to be true to her calling to serve, teach, encourage, and give.
