Kathleen Imhoff

Professional library consultant Kathleen Imhoff formerly held an executive position at one of the largest library systems in the nation. Her body of work speaks for itself: multiple published articles, two books, and over 30 years in the industry. Most recently, Kathleen Imhoff provided consultation regarding space planning, work flow, and design for the National Children's Library in Muscat, Oman.

During her undergraduate years, Kathleen Imhoff majored in English and minored in Art. She received a Master of Arts (MA) in Library Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and also studied public policy and administration.

Kathleen Imhoff belongs to numerous professional organizations. She serves on the Board of Directors for Online Computer Library Center, Inc., a nonprofit, membership-based computer library service and research organization which serves more than 72,000 libraries in l70 countries. She holds membership in the Southeastern Library Association, the American Library Association, and the Public Library Association.

Kathleen Imhoff has two published books, Making the Most of New Technology, which she wrote, and Library Contests, which she co-authored. She also contributes to multiple industry journals including Public Libraries.

Ms. Imhoff’s career resulted in the receipt of multiple honors and awards, including the 15 Leading Women in Central Kentucky Award, a Rothrock Lifetime Achievement Award, a SEFLIN Distinguished Service Award, a Library Transformer Award, and a John Cotton Dana Award.

Kathleen Imhoff, who creates book cover collages and photography, also experienced success in the world of art. She won first-place prizes in a state of Alabama art competition, the Shelby County Arts Council’s annual shows, and from ArtServe shows in Florida.

Apart from her art and library work, she enjoys international travel and creating vintage jewelry necklaces. Her plans for the future include the development of a website through which to showcase her art.
