SUPPORT KATHY AT THE DRUNKEN DUCK SUNDAY NOVEMBER 11th 4-7pm for food, drink, music, silent auction, prizes and more!

This Sunday we're getting together at the Drunken Duck in Bucerias to raise money for my upcoming lumpectomy. A couple of weeks ago I learned I have Stage One Breast Cancer. And because I am not covered - yet- by insurance here, I need to raise about 100,000 pesos (roughly $8,000 USD) to pay for my surgery. Hopefully insurance will kick in in time for my radiation and chemo. But right now I need your help. Please read on . . .

Dear friends, We have had some incredible prizes and auction items donated to help raise money. We'll be doing 50/50s, raffles, and selling tickets to cruises on the Bay. There will be special drinks and snacks to tempt you, too. The Duck is going to help us make this a great afternoon. And if you like football, you can hang out at YoYo's across the street. Have no fear, our auctioneer and rafflers will find you over there.

100,000 pesos is a lot and time is short so we've also set up a PayPal account where you can direct donations - particularly those who are unable to join us on Sunday. PAYPAL DONATIONS TO KATHLEEN CHANDLER
Anything you can do will be hugely appreciated. If you'd like to donate prizes for the raffles or auction, please let us know.

MY STORY
I came to Mexico three years ago following the death of my husband. He went through a 16 year illness that included a liver transplant. Tragically despite his valiant attempts to regain his health he left me in Nov. 2009. Not only did I lose my husband, but his medical care wiped me out financially.
When I came to PV following John's death I fell in love with it - especially its people. I also felt that I would need less to live on down here. I'm sure many of you can relate!

I love living in Mexico. My health has improved. I have a new community of friends & am involved in a start-up company that is just getting off the ground.
