Katleen Felix

International Consultant holding a Master’s degree in International Finance and Management from HEC Montreal. Katleen Felix is the co-founder and President of the Haitian Hometown Associations Resource Group (www. hhtarg.org). She also has been the Haitian Diaspora Liaison for Fonkoze (www.fonkoze.org) for 6 years, where she was responsible of research and development of new remittance products or initiatives, financial literacy programs for new immigrants, training and capacity-building for Haitian Hometown Associations (HHTAs), project reporting and donor relations. Her most recent project is the launch of Zafen (www.zafen.org ) a new crowd funding website for small-and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and social enterprises in Haiti. She has designed the pilot “Remittance for Business” which trained over 300 people in Haiti and in the Haitian Diaspora.
She has over dozen years of experience in corporate financial management, 20 years in leadership and volunteer roles in not-for-profit organizations and pro-bono financial consultation SMEs in Canada and the USA. Prior to establish her consulting activities, Katleen worked in Corporate Finance for CGI, Bell Canada and Air Canada.
She is well integrated in the business scene and in the Haitian Diaspora community. She is the recipient of many awards: 2006 Young Professional Excellence Award of HEC Montreal for her accomplishments and community involvement, 2009 Young professional of the year award and People’s Choice award by the Young Chamber of Commerce from Montreal (JCCH), 2009 Community Leadership Award from HABNET, 2009 Citation from the President of the Brooklyn Borough Hall, 2010 Pioneers of Prosperity Award of Mattapan Technology in Boston and Black History Month Montreal Laureate 2013.
Katleen holds a bachelor and master degree in Finance & International business from HEC Montreal (www.hec.ca). She speaks French, English, Creole and Portuguese. Currently, she actively serves on three different boards or committees Haitian Hometown Associations Resources group , the Haitian Diaspora Federation and Vincentian Family Haiti Advisory board.
