I am K. Dawn Rutledge. Welcome to my world. I am a 15-year multi-talented, results driven marketing, media and public relations veteran. Wow, that's a mouthful!

Someone once said: "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life," and I absolutely love to bring ideas to life and promote good people, causes, events and programs.

During my diverse career, I have had the privilege of serving as a working journalist in print, radio and television and have taken on key communications roles in the non-profit, entertainment, corporate, government and higher education sectors. I frequently work with and speak to groups on diversity and minority issues in the media and communications fields, and mentor young people who are interested in pursuing careers in journalism and/or communications. There is nothing more important than positively impacting the lives of others and preparing the next generation to carry the mantra.

I'm big on community and leaderhip development counting myself a proud graduate of programs like the Young Leaders Council, Leadership Middle Tennessee, Leadership Nashville, the Jewell Jackson McCabe Emerging Leaders Institute and Tennessee State University's President’s Fellowship Program. I was a 2004 nominee of the prestigious Nashville ATHENA Award, which recognizes women who excel to leadership, a recipient of Nashville Business Journal’s Top Forty Under 40 Leader Award, and a 2011 ATHENA Young Professional Award nominee.
