Keighly Chambers

Gainesville, Florida

Keighly Chambers is a multimedia journalist at the University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications. She is a senior pursuing her bachelors degree in Telecommunication-News with a concentration in sports management. Keighly's love of entertainment combined with a passion for story-telling has put her in the direction of a career she could not imagine her life without. She works in producing stories for television, radio, and the web.

Keighly also has a passion for entertainment news, fashion, and crafting. She loves to search for new ideas, and spend hours making them come to life. She also has a love for writing, and enjoys sharing tips that's she's learned along the way with others.

Currently, Keighly is a participating in a news internship with WPEC CBS 12 in West Palm Beach. She was previously a reporter and photographer for WUFT-TV a PBS affiliate in Gainesville. She has also gained experience by producing and anchoring the WUFT-TV news cut-in's aired on WRUF in Gainesville.

​Keighly has previously reported for North Central Florida's NPR affiliate Florida's 89.1,WUFT-FM. She produced and hosted Florida's 89.1 WUFT-FM's NPR style news show "Front Page Edition of All Things Considered."

She has interned for WQAM 560AM Sports Radio in Miami. During her time there she coordinated interviews, uploaded podcasts, and had live interaction with the radio show host. Keighly has also interned for WMEN 640AM Sports Radio in South Florida. She gained further sports radio experience at WRUF Sports Radio 850AM in Gainesville where she wrote and produced daily sports updates and longer length sports features. Keighly also wrote sports features for the WRUF website.

Keighly's short hard news feature on Cyberbullying has been nominated for an AP College Award.

​As Keighly gets closer to graduation, she has plans to advance the newsroom skills she's gained in order to further her career as a general assignment television news reporter or television producer.
