Kelby Siddons graduated from Northwestern University's Drama program under the tutelage of playwright Laura Schellhardt and specializing in Theater for Young Audiences. Her original plays have been seen in New York, Chicago, Milwaukee, Houston, and Jacksonville, FL. She was a finalist in Manhattan Theatre Club's REALationships ten-minute play competition; was one of two winners of Players by the Sea's New Voices commission in 2016; earned first prize for two consecutive years at Theater Jacksonville's 24-hour playwriting competition; co-founded a group of playwrights and supporters known as the Groundling Scribes; writes and performs in for Swamp Radio on WJCT 89.9; and regularly appears in and directs local theater.As artistic director of Northwestern University's Purple Crayon Players, she received the Aurand Harris Award for Excellence in TYA and founded the nationally recognized PLAYground Festival to develop new works for young people.In addition to teaching English full time, she works as a writer, dramaturg, editor, and graphic designer.
