Most recently, I was a reporter at Axios covering race and justice, focusing on subjects including, sports, police inequity and politics.

Previously, I worked at Newsday in New York, covering municipal government and later general assignment. I worked at The Record in New Jersey and the New York Daily News.

I also worked at newspapers in Connecticut, Texas and Oregon, where I wrote about health care, local government and sports. And, yes, I like sports, especially baseball.

I'm fluent in Spanish. I graduated from Queens College and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

I'm a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
