Kelechi Ezie

Kelechi Ezie is a proud native of Buffalo, New York - which is WESTERN, not Upstate, for all those interested. She does enjoy the Bills and of course chicken wings, but refuses to eat them outside of her hometown. She is currently performing with THE First National Tour of BOOK OF MORMON.

Like Michelle Obama and F. Scott Fitzgerald, Kelechi is a grad of Princeton University. She graduated cum laude in History with certificates in Theatre & Dance and African American Studies. Kelechi was recipient of the Walter Phelps Hall Prize in European History for her senior thesis Reading What Is There: Africans in Early Modern England, a look at Africans in Elizabethan England.

Since faceplanting in New York City, Kelechi has worked in plays, musicals, and film, select credits include the world premiere of Tearing Down The Walls, written and directed by Obie award winner Daniel Beaty, and New York Musical Theatre Fest 2012. She is also a member of the prestigious BAT Acting Company, at The Flea Theater.

Kelechi wrote, co-produced and starred in award-winning short film The Truth About Beauty and Blogs, which is an official selection of Ebertfest 2012 and her first screenplay.
