I'm a recovering dead trees publisher (psychology, neuroscience, psychiatry; books, journals, software) who fell in love with the web long before "google" was a verb. I segued from print publications to ebooks, to intranets, to content management, and somehow ended up in metadata warehouses.

After a stint handling ebusiness development in the 'dot com' era, I moved from John Wiley & Sons to Thomson Reuters, where I headed web communications, with responsibility for both internal web systems and the corporation's public website. There, I had the privilege of working with Happy Cog on a revamp of the public web site, and realized they were doing what I wanted to do.

I hung my shingle as an independent web designer and developer in 2008, and have kept busy doing readable, user-friendly, standards-compliant web sites for businesses and non-profit organizations. I re-located to sunny (well, except in June, when it rains non-stop) Sarasota, Florida in 2012 and divide my time between web work, restoring a historic register home, running, and volunteering. Life is good!
