Hello! I am the Rev. Dr. Kelly Murphy Mason, an educator, minister, psychotherapist, Spiritual Director, and writer. My varied ministries have all been devoted to integrating spiritual wisdom with psychological insight in the sacred service of healing individuals, helping communities, and fostering human flourishing. In 2022, I affiliated with Arlington Street Church in Boston as its Community Minister for Spiritual Direction.

Since my ordination by The Community Church of New York in 2006, I have occupied a host of roles in higher education, counseling centers, and faith communities in both New York and New England. In the past, I served as Senior Minister at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Wellesley Hills; I was also Managing Director for the Psychotherapy & Spirituality Institute in Manhattan and taught on the faculties of Union Theological Seminary and Columbia University, two of my alma maters. Today I am a mentor/trainer in the Apprenticeship Program at the Phoenix Center for Spiritual Direction.

In addition to being ordained clergy with full ministerial fellowship, I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW-MA), registered yoga teacher (RYT-200), certified Pastoral Counselor (AAPC/ACPE), and member of Spiritual Directors International (SDI). I am also a book reviewer for Presence, the quarterly journal of SDI.

Over the years, I have been a panelist and presenter at local, national, and international programs for colleges, institutes, professional organizations, retreat centers, and hospitals. A committed member of the Parliament of the World's Religions, I was also a presenter at its 2023 global gathering in Chicago.

My considerable clinical training includes mindfulness, trauma treatment, couples counseling, logotherapy, life coaching, and spiritually-informed therapy. I am now the convener and Co-Chair of the global Spirituality & Flourishing Interest Group in the Flourishing Network at the Harvard University Human Flourishing Program.

Print and online publications have interviewed me. In addition, I have published pieces in the academic and popular press and am anthologized essayist.
