Ken Heinz

Ken Heinz, an experienced school administrator, served Centura Public Schools as Superintendent. His professional responsibilities entailed administering a $12 million operating budget and acting as chief executive officer for the school district and its more than 100 employees. Under Ken Heinz's committed leadership, Centura Public Schools implemented major financial changes, which successfully grew the general fund balance by more than $3 million in only three years. During Mr. Heinz's tenure with Centura Public Schools, the district saw notable improvements in test scores. Ken Heinz is also recognized for developing and implementing a comprehensive Safety and Security Program. As a result of this program, the educational facilities in the district offer a safer learning environment for all students. Prior to his work with Centura Public Schools, Ken Heinz excelled as the Superintendent of Osceola Public Schools. His notable contributions at Osceola include implementing a district Future Farmers of America program, developing a new middle school for the district, and working to pass a bond to improve school facilities. Earlier in his career, he served as Principal of Genoa Public School, notably earning recognition as "Outstanding New Principal" by the Nebraska Council of School Administrators.

Over the course of his career, Ken Heinz has maintained active affiliation with professional organizations such as the Nebraska Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the Nebraska Council of School Administrators, and the Special Education Advisory Council. The Governor of Nebraska recognized Ken Heinz's leadership abilities by appointing him to serve as Chair of the Nebraska Professional Practices Commission.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Educational Administration, Ken Heinz holds a Doctor of Education. His other degrees include a Bachelor of Music from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1984 and a Master of Science in Education from Kansas State University in 1988. In his personal life, Mr. Heinz performs community service in affiliation with organizations such as St. Joseph Catholic Church and local educational groups. He also enjoys coaching soccer and Little League baseball.
