Ken E. Nwadike, Jr is the founder of Superhero Events, LLC and the Free Hugs Project. As an endurance event production company, Superhero Events hosts charity runs and walks to raise funds for homeless youth shelters in Southern California. Ken is an accomplished athlete that began running while homeless as a high school student. He later earned a college scholarship to run Track & Field, followed by a brief professional running career with the Nike Farm Team – Olympic Development Program based at Stanford University. As a sub-elite athlete, Ken currently competes in distance running races and coaches student athletes.
The Free Hugs Project is an initiative created by Ken to inspire people to spread love and raise awareness of social issues. Free Hugs Project videos have reached over 100 million views online and currently has a Facebook following of 250,000 fans. A number of Ken's viral videos have been featured in The New York Times, Huffington Post, USA Today, and Buzzfeed News.
