George Lee

George is a graduate student at the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa pursuing a M.S. in computer science. He obtained his B.S. in mathematics from the University of Washington with minors in both chemistry and physics. He decided to switch to computer science because he wanted something more practical in which he could apply his problem solving skills. George also enjoys following the latest trends in technology, whether its new video games, social networking, or the latest in tech news (and rumors).

George's interests include web development, mobile applications, and social computing. During his time at UH, he was fortunate enough to gain experience in these three fields. George worked for a year doing development on Discourse, which is used by several departments to host content and discussions for classes taught at the university. He also got the chance to do some mobile development on the iPhone. George wrote an iPhone application called iGeoRSS and is currently working on an update to it. Currently, his Master's thesis is a dorm energy competition that will be hosted in 2011.
