Black 2: Broadway is a professionally produced variety show designed to spotlight and honor veteran Broadway Performers of Color within a formulated, professionally produced variety show format.

Black 2: Broadway features a 4 piece professional band, 3 professional background vocalist, state of the art sound and lighting design, a warm-up act, and professional M/C.

B2: Productions seeks to create paid employment for this undeserved contingency in several ways:

  • Create a National Network of Performance Venues with the intent of booking artist tours through this Network. Because of the structure of this new network, artist would be supported by an existing audience and promotion network in each location.
  • Develop and Produce new and original works by people of color. Utilizing this newly developed national network, B2: Productions will support the proliferation of new and excellent Performance and Theater Projects created by people of color by touring them through each of the B2: Productions partner venues.
  • Support Professional Networking. At least one night at each of the B2: Productions' partner venues will be dedicated to professional networking. This will provide for the further support and development of community generated and supported ventures and projects.
  • Develop broadcast products that will serve to promote and profilerate the talents and culture of people of color. These broadcasts will be designed to express the board culture, expression and ideals of peole of color and will move away from negative sterotypes and focus on positive, honest images of ourselves and our culture.
