Kevin Brandes

Kansas City, Kansas

An avid warm-weather and cold-weather sportsman, Kevin Brandes travels across the United States and to Central America in search of adventure. Mr. Brandes' many sporting and athletic interests keep him occupied throughout the year. He enjoys deep-sea fishing, golfing, motorcycling, skiing, and snowmobiling. In pursuit of these activities, Mr. Brandes both travels to popular vacation spots and experiences the joys of exploring terrain the average traveler rarely visits.

During warm weather, Kevin Brandes takes advantage of fishing, motorcycling, and golf. Among his favorite places for deep-sea fishing are off the coast of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico and off the coasts of Baja California and Costa Rica in the Pacific Ocean. His favorite fish to catch are marlin, sailfish, roosterfish, and dorado.

When he is not aboard a boat, Mr. Brandes is on his Harley-Davidson, traveling to motorcycle events throughout Florida; heading up to Sturgis, South Dakota; riding through Kentucky; or winding along the byways through the Smoky Mountains on the Tennessee-North Carolina border. He often takes advantage of golfing excursions and has played throughout the United States, including his favorite courses in Arizona, California, and Georgia.

In winter, Kevin Brandes flexes his athleticism on the slopes of Colorado's most famous ski resorts. An expert downhill, moguls, and "big mountain" skier, Mr. Brandes skis Vail and Steamboat Springs, with the occasional trip south to Taos, New Mexico, where he tackles black diamond runs. Off the slopes, Mr. Brandes enjoys backcountry snowmobiling in the wilderness surrounding Winter Park, Colorado.

Kevin Brandes used to be an active drag racer and clocked nine-second, quarter-mile races at 155 miles per hour. Although he is semi-retired from the sport, he still takes an interest in Super Street car races around the country.
