I am a product innovator with more than 20 years of experience and believe in the power of technology to improve our lives. I decided early on in my career that I wanted to use my skills to make a positive impact. In 2005, I founded MapMyRun with the goal of using technology to motivate people to do what they love. In 2007 it evolved into MapMyFitness (with Robin Thurston & Jeff Kalikstein) and eventually the largest digital fitness community that set the standard for mobile fitness tracking. It is still one of the leading apps in the space today and was acquired by Under Armour in 2013.

Recently, I have returned to my roots and have joined the product leadership team at Outside Inc. I’m building a team of product/tech superstars and will be developing some incredible products across our portfolio of 35+ outdoor industry brands. Reuniting with former MapMyFitness co-founder Robin Thurston (CEO), Chris Glode (CPO), and Danielle Quatrochi (COO) to build a community focused on getting people outside and active is a dream come true.

As a leader, I believe in giving people room to spread their wings, take on challenges, and even make mistakes. Not knowing the answers is okay, but being willing to work your ass off to find them quickly is key. I find myself drawn to self-starters and entrepreneurial-minded people. When it comes to building products and technology, I believe that small changes can have a massive impact.

I am also an active member of the tech/entrepreneur community. I love to connect with and mentor other founders and startups to help them to navigate the challenges that I’ve faced (and continue to face). I'm a super mentor / EIR @ Capital Factory, helping grow and nurture the ATX startup community.

I spent a large portion of my life living and traveling around the world. I was fortunate to be able to see firsthand that technology can not be insular and must serve the global community in order to affect real change in people’s lives.
